Subject: Caring for LGBTQ elders: 5 minutes of your time
Hi [insert name of colleague or friend]:
Please help us honor and care for our LGBTQ elders. It will only take five minutes of your time, and would help get some valuable and effective services into the community.
Every week–in Washington, Oregon, and California–trained coaches use video chatting to meet with LGBTQ elders experiencing Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia and work with their care partners to learn exercises and strategies to address the challenges of memory loss. Already, folks are expressing how much this research-validated intervention is making a difference in their everyday lives.
If you have five minutes or less:
- Go to goldseninstitute.org/ageidea/share/ and click on any image to share a Facebook post about this program. Just this one post could help multiply our reach, especially given your connections in the community.
- Copy and paste the email at the end of this message, and send it to people you know who are experiencing memory loss, or who know someone who is.
How to magnify the impact:
- Help us identify audiences that can refer study participants, like caregiver support groups, therapist groups, professional associations, etc.
- Share press/media contacts with us
- Introduce IDEA to key decision-makers
- Schedule an IDEA presentation
- Distribute information packets with postcards and flyers.
- We are open to your ideas about how to get the word out!
Please contact Amy Cunningham or Char Brown at 1-888-655-6646, AgeIDEA@uw.edu, or check out the website at goldseninstitute.org/ageidea.
Thanks so much for your support!
Sincerely,
[YOUR NAME]
