Our Programs
Legacy Letters
Legacy Letters offers opportunities for cross-generational bridge-building to help reduce social isolation and loneliness. Through the writing of stories about important life moments, the program enables older adults and other generations to share and connect over diverse experiences, histories, and perspectives. Join us for one of our upcoming facilitated 5-week sessions.
Aging and Multigen Lunchtime Series is a bi-weekly, educational forum. The series showcases the latest innovations in aging, focusing on services that ensure culturally relevant care and improve health while building community for students. The series creates a bridge between students, alumni, elders, providers, and faculty.
Dine together is our community dining program offered in partnership with the Tin Table on Capitol Hill. Are you a member of the LGBTQ+ community 55 years or older? Are you craving connection? Join us for this monthly, no-cost meal program the second Wednesday of every month. Space is limited so pre-registration is required.
Gathering Together
Our early-stage memory loss support group is a time for LGBTQ+ and allies experiencing memory loss to connect with others about their shared experiences. Gathering Together is a time for connecting, sharing resources and mutual support, as well as laughter and conversation. New 10-week session to begin in early 2023 and is currently open to new participants.
This Chair Rocks
Join us for our free virtual weekly exercise class, “This Chair Rocks.” Enjoy a fun hour of chair work-outs where we’ll move through stretching, strengthening, and cardio exercises to help prevent falls, boost your mood, and improve endurance. Whether in-person or virtual, we’ll be ready to come together for a good time. All are welcome.
Caregiver Support Group
Join our monthly virtual Caregiver Support Group for caregivers in the LGBTQ+ community. This facilitated group is a time for connecting with others, sharing resources, and supporting fellow caregivers navigating a similar experience. Meets every 2nd Monday of the month at 2PM over Zoom.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers
The Powerful Tools for Caregivers program is an evidence-based education program to help caregivers take better care of themselves while caring for a friend or family member. The series offers a range of tools for the caregiver’s “toolbox” on topics including self-care, emotion management, self-confidence, communication skills, stress reduction, and community resources. By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver. The program consists of six class sessions held once a week and led by two certified class leaders. Class participants are given The Caregiver Helpbook to accompany the class and provide additional caregiver resources.
